Selected because of its situation on the edge of the Gorges du Verdon and its proximity to the pretty town of Castellane. This large Castels site lies in a pretty valley right on the edge of the stunning Gorges. Walking distance of the centre of the town it has attractive stone-faced buildings and spacious areas by the River Verdon. The river is very low most of the time but the dam is opened twice a week and it fills up for canoeing and kayaking. It is probably the best site in the area, but some of the sanitary blocks could do with updating and the grounds could do with a little more TLC. The lively atmosphere and good programme of entertainment make it an ideal spot for active families.

Guided walks, horse-riding, rafting, canyoning and kayaking off site. Evening entertainment includes music, concerts and a disco three times a week. Camp fire for teenagers every evening at 11pm on river bank well away from pitches.

Swimming pool complex with two medium-sized rectangular shaped pools. Two waterslides come down into half of one of the pools. Small paddling pool. Good sun terrace but no sun loungers. Swimming area not large enough for size of site.
Five fully equipped toilet blocks, one block with toilets and washing up sinks only. They are a mixture of old and new and all different. One block has been completely modernised. All have push button temperature controlled showers with hooks, individual wash basins and toilets with toilet paper. In the new block, there are family showers with showers and wash basins together. Disabled facilities. Baby room. Large laundry. Chemical waste point.
The site is situated 1.2km south-west of Castellane on the N952 and well signposted.
