North East France
Selected as this is a charming Castels site whose focal point is an old stone-faced forge and mill which overlook a small lake and river. Set in the heart of the Champagne hills, it is well placed as a stopover point en route to North Eastern France, Germany and Italy. It is also suitable for longer stays to explore this charming unspoilt region. It is a fabulously spacious site rich in fauna and flora. Wild orchids grow in abundance, there are numerous rare trees including 200-year old oaks and over 50 different species of birds have been spotted. You can be sure of warm welcome from the English/Dutch owners. It is a good site for first timers and short family breaks. Narrow entrance for large outfits.
