Families and couples. No organised activities so not particularly recommended for teenagers.
Ste Reine-de-Bretagne 2km. Nantes 59km. La Baule 33km. St Malo 194km.

Good-sized flat pitches either in a pleasant wooded area or in a more open field divided by hedges and shrubs.
6 amps - 89 pitches. Water & drainage with 10 amps - 15 pitches.
Motorhome service point but some distance from nearest town.
Main pool 16.8m x 7.7m covered in low season. Paddling pool 4.5 x 6.5m.Adequate but surrounding terrace not exceptionally well maintained.
Cycle hire. Occasional meals organised in the courtyard of the château. Fishing and pedalos on lake. Short fitness circuit. Tennis but court not in good condition. Excellent new children’s play area. Table tennis. Boules pitch.
None.
One toilet block with ladies and gents, which is clean and respectable but could do with renovation. Good number of showers and toilets for size of site. Toilet seats with paper, push button showers with no temperature control. Disabled facilties. Baby room. Laundry. Chemical waste point.
Small shop with basics (order bread the night before) take-away and restaurant/bar open all season in stone-faced outbuildings of château which form an attractive courtyard. Internet and Wi-Fi in bar and restaurant area.
One and two bedroomed chalets for 2/6 persons and two bedroomed mobile homes for 4/5 persons.

Situated on the edge of the Brière National Park in the grounds of a 19th century château, this site has a lovely, relaxing atmosphere. The quiet but delightful wooded setting makes it a nature-lovers’ paradise.
The focal point is a small attractive lake suitable for fishing and boating. The site is run in a simple unsophisticated style, which could occasionally do with a little more TLC. However it is perfect for those who prefer peace and quiet and a feeling of spaciousness in a verdant setting, away from the busy coastal resorts. It is also ideal for an overnight stop going south from Caen or St Malo.

Directions
Leave the N165 express road at exit 13 and Château du Deffay is signposted from the D33 Pontchâteau to Herbignac road, near Ste-Reine. Follow signs for “Camping du Deffay”.

Excursions / Places to Visit
Very picturesque villages in the Brière National Park, walled town of Guérande, La Baule 30km, Pont St Nazaire. Several international golf courses only a few minutes from the site.
